Fishing Adventure Hits Television with Dutch record catfish!

In the beautiful Rutbekerveld, located between Enschede and Haaksbergen, history was made: for it was here that the largest catfish ever caught in the Netherlands. With an impressive length of 2 metres and 27 centimetres, this catch counts as an official Dutch record. This unique event not only attracted the attention of anglers across Europe, but also the national media, including television channels and fishing specialists.

The catch was made by experienced angler Dirk Ditters from Germany, who had set his sights on this region for some time. Specifically for this challenge, he travelled to Rutbekerveld, hoping to land a monstrous catfish. His effort was rewarded - even if it required a boat to land the giant fish safely. According to Dirk, he had an even bigger catfish on the line earlier, but it managed to escape at the last moment.

Bart de Vries, co-organiser of the session and representative of Fishing adventure, confirmed the catch and stressed that this water has much more in store. "The Rutbekerveld contains an excellently managed fish stock with several large catfish. This is no coincidence - serious fish are swimming around here, and every session can break a record," De Vries said.
