On 9 August, the SBS6 programme Hart van Nederland was at Fishing Adventure. An item was recorded in connection with the large 2.27 catfish caught by Dirk Ditters at Fishing Adventure.

In a large fishing pond between Enschede and Haaksbergen, the largest catfish in the Netherlands has ever been caught. The fish has a length of as much as 2m27.
Due to the strength of the giant fish, a boat had to be used to catch the catfish. "It was a 20-minute battle with the fish weighing about 70 kilos," says angler Dirk Ditters. He took a photo with the giant animal after the catch. The animal was then returned to the water.

The catch was made in a large fishing pond belonging to the company Fishing Adventure during an event. The water contains several large fish such as carp and sturgeon. From 2020, Fishing Adventure plans to make it possible for all anglers to fish in the pond for a fee.
